Eberhard "Azzurra" regatta chronograph – reference 31700 serial number C172. Interesting automatic chronograph with steel case, with 10-minute countdown function for sailing regattas. Waterproof case in brushed steel, with original crown with Eberhard logo and waterproof pump chronograph buttons. White dial with 5 windows for sailing countdown. Applied yellow gold bar indexes with yellow gold stick spheres with partial luminous treatment, black printed graphics. Mechanical movement with automatic winding, Valjoux 7757 caliber. Watch in exceptional general conditions of conservation as NEW OLD STOCK from the 80s, offered for sale with the following kit:

– original black rubber strap, marked Eberhard NEW - with steel deployant, original and marked Eberhard;

– guarantee of originality issued by our shop, guarantee of correct functioning issued by our shop, generic box from our shop;

FUNCTIONING AND HISTORY: Functioning: the regatta chronograph has the function of signaling, in sailing regattas, the countdown of the last 10 minutes before the start, so it must allow immediate reading. By activating the chrono, the 5 initially white windows gradually turn orange and then in the last 5 minutes, the Azzurra symbol appears which is a light blue spinnaker sail, each window that changes color means that a minute has elapsed. History: the Azzurra boat took part in the America's Cup (Luis Vuitton Cup) in the 1983 and 1987 editions on behalf of the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club, the owner was Gianni Agnelli. The boat was the first ever Italian challenger for the America's Cup. The skipper was Cino Ricci, helmsman Mauro Pelaschier.

Period: 1983s;

Case: waterproof in two parts, in steel, round shape with satin finish. Waterproof push buttons and original crown with Eberhard logo. Pressure-fit caseback with the following external engravings: Eberhard and C° - reference C172 - waterproof - full steel - double Azzurra logo - 1983 Italian Americas Cup challenge. Case dimensions: net diameter 38.5 mm (excluding crown). The case is in exceptional storage conditions, it has only two small signs on the external case back due to storage;

Dial: original white with 5 windows for sailing countdown. Applied yellow gold bar indexes with yellow gold baton spheres with partial luminous treatment, black printed graphics, at 12: 5 windows for sailing countdown and Eberhard and C° writing, at 6: Azzurra logo and writing Swiss made;

Glass: domed sapphire mineral;

Movement: mechanical with automatic winding, Valjoux 7757 calibre, untouched and perfectly functional;
