( SOLD IN ITALY ) PERSEO antique clock made for the Italian State Railways - ASSIGNED - presumably dating back to the 1940s

PERSEO rare and particular pocket watch dating back to the 1940s, made for the Italian State Railways, with assignment number on the external case back ( unlike the many Perseos normally found on the market characterized by the FS effigy affixed with authorization from the Railways Italian as a historic supplier of the same, this example was actually ordered and purchased by the Italian Railways and delivered with all the equipment to a station manager or train manager, a characteristic of these watches is the presence of the assignment serial number. These watches come all equipment remained the property of the Railways and had to be returned when service as an employee was interrupted).

The watch, original in every part, is characterized by a white porcelain dial with a very light patina of time, indexes printed with Roman numerals, black graphics and Railway-type sword spheres, in burnished steel and small seconds at 6 o'clock. Double case in nickel-plated metal with hinge. The external case back has the engraving "FS" of the Italian State Railways and the assignment serial number 344 (very low number, therefore one of the first ever assigned).

Period: presumably 1940s.

Case: nickel-plated metal with double hinged case. The external caseback features the old "Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane" logo and the assignment number 344. Internally we find the assignment numbers 344 repeated in the internal caseback and in the second internal case. Case diameter: 52 mm (net – excluding crown);

Dial: original in white porcelain, black enamelled Roman numeral hour markers. Railway-type sword hands in burnished steel, with small seconds;

Movement: golden, mechanical hand-wound regularly punched Perseo;
