PHILIP WATCH Caribbean 2000 HI-SWING - reference 709 - 50mm steel case - blue dial and bezel - 1970s

PHILIP WATCH  " CARIBBEAN 2000 HI-SWING" reference 709, enormous professional men's diving watch, originally tested at a depth of 1000m (100 ATM), enormous monobloc steel case with a net diameter of 50mm. Original crown with Caribbean logo, screw-locked. Original mineral glass. Bidirectional rotating external bezel graduated for decompression times, in blue and white Bakelite. Iridescent blue dial with arrow markers. Graphics printed in white with date window at 3 o'clock. Self-winding mechanical movement, in perfect working order and professionally serviced by our watchmaker. The watch is in truly excellent general conditions of conservation, the engravings on the caseback are all perfectly legible and exceptionally preserved and is offered for sale with the following kit:

- Tropic Sport strap, 22mm lug, blue colour, original from the era and in stock condition, complete with rare original Tropic steel buckle;

- guarantee of originality and correct functioning issued by our shop with generic box from our shop;

Period: presumably early 70s;

Case: monobloc steel flying saucer, bidirectional rotating external bezel graduated for decompression times, in blue and white bakelite, unidirectional rotating, the baketite insert has a crack between minute 7 and minute 8. Original crown with Philip Watch Caribbean logo, screw fastened. The engravings on the caseback are all intact, perfectly legible and exceptionally preserved. Case dimensions: diameter 50 mm (without crown);

Dial: original and in exceptional storage conditions, iridescent blue color with tritium arrow markers. White arrow-shaped spheres with tritium treatment, central seconds spheres with small luminous tritium lozenge. Graphics printed in white, at 12 o'clock: Philip Watch Caribbean - HI-SWING logo and writing. At 6 o'clock: Caribbean 2000 - 1000 meters (3300ft) - T Swiss made T. At 3 o'clock, date window with quick release from the crown. The dial has a small dot missing at 3 o'clock on the outside of the date window;

Movement: mechanical, self-winding, in perfect working order;

Glass: mineral;

Strap: Tropic Sport strap, 22mm lug, blue colour, original from the era, complete with rare original Tropic buckle in Swiss Pat steel;
