RODANIA GEOMETER "ALBINO" reference 5621H, very rare and iconic waterproof chronograph in steel - produced since 1954. Splendid chronograph with waterproof steel case, pump buttons, original crown with Rodania logo and screw-down steel case back. Silver "ALBINO" dial in exceptional condition with steel alpha-type hands with light treatment, luminous indexes and black graphics. Mechanical hand-wound movement, Valjoux 72 base caliber, in perfect working order. Original watch in every little part, in exceptional general condition, close to the remaining stock, offered for sale with the following accessories:

BRIEF HISTORY AND NOTES ON RODANIA AND THE RODANIA GEOMETER CHRONOGRAPH:

Rodania is a Swiss brand born in Grenchen in the 30s not particularly famous as it boasts a production of rather standard watches, the Geometer for various reasons represents an excellence for this brand. In fact, there is a historical dispute between Omega Speedmaster collectors and in particular regarding the first series produced in 1957 with reference CK 2915. The Rodania Geometer was in fact put into production in 1954 and in the version with a black dial, several aesthetic aspects that unite the two watches, both have a diameter of 38mm, the same shape of the indexes, the minute track, the shape and the arrangement of the counters.. all this has given rise to a lively debate, according to some Omega would have collected numerous ideas from the Geometer to create its Speedmaster CK2915, a debate that will probably remain unresolved with that of the chicken and the egg. The fact remains that the Rodania Geometer certainly represents one of the most beautiful and rare chronographs of the 50s, made with extreme care and literally using the best available at that time starting from a splendid Valjoux 72 used only by the most famous brands of the time.

Period: in the mid 50s;

Case: waterproof in steel in two parts, smooth bezel. Original winding crown with Rodania logo. Screw-down steel case back with the following internal engravings: Rodania Watch C° - Swiss made - Stainless stell. Reference 5621H engraved between the lugs at 6 o'clock. Case dimensions: 38mm (excluding crown) x 45 mm (from lug to lug). The case is in exceptional condition, never polished with perfect engravings and modest signs of use;

Dial: original, "ALBINO" silver with silver counters, in exceptional condition of conservation, steel hands of the alpha type with luminous treatment, rectangular luminous indexes and black printed graphics;

Glass: plastic;

Movement: mechanical with manual winding, Valjoux 72 base caliber, perfectly functional as a watch and as a chronograph as it has been completely and professionally overhauled by our watchmaker;
