STOCKER & YALE " SANDY 490" interesting and uncommon military watch issued to the US Armed Forces in 1993. Stocker & Yale was one of the most consolidated suppliers of the US Armed Forces and produced watches, compasses and various equipment capable of meeting the military specifications defined by the U.S. Department of Defense and NATO specifications. The Sandy 490 (made in compliance with the MIL-W-46374D specifications of 1986) represents an icon of military collecting, it is built with a very light monobloc case in opaque anti-reflective resin, with an aluminum bezel that can be disassembled to extract the movement. Black tritium dial, with Arabic numeral indexes and white tritium-treated spheres, the inner flange has grooves every 5 minutes where the tritium is applied. Manual winding mechanical movement made in Switzerland, caliber ETA 2801. Watch never used in exceptional condition, free from defects, offered for sale with the following accessories:

Case: very light waterproof case in a single block of opaque anti-reflective resin, with an aluminum bezel that can be disassembled to extract the movement. Waterproof opaque crown integrated into the case. Fixed iron lugs removable from the sides to replace the strap. Case dimensions: 37mm (excluding crown) x 40mm (from lug to lug). The case is in exceptional condition, never used and free of defects. The case back has all the military specifications to which the watch responds, indication of the model SANDY (StockerANDYale) 490 - year of assignment 1993 - Stocker & Yale - case code 90640 - Swiss made;

Dial: tritium with black base, with Arabic numeral indexes and white spheres treated with tritium, the internal rehaut has grooves every 5 minutes where the tritium is applied. Tritium symbol (H3) and radioactivity symbol;

Movement: mechanical hand-wound ETA 2801, perfectly working;

Glass: flat mineral;
